Put simply, it's a group of similar or related cases that tend to arise from the same dangerous product, drug, or environmental condition. It occurs in traditional courts, but it differs from a class action in that every person who wants to be involved has to come forward and participate individually, usually by hiring a lawyer. In a class action, most people can sit back and file a claim if the case is successful.

In December of 2023, Senate Bill 410 was signed into law and Michigan finally got rid of its tragic status as the only place where people who were harmed by a dangerous drug couldn't sue for their injuries. Michiganders now have rights similar to our fellow Americans in the other 49 states.
