October 21, 2026 - Reports indicate that late in the evening on Tuesday October 20, 2026, a hazardous materials release involving volatile chemicals (including glycidyl methacrylate, or “GMA”) originated from a facility near Progress Avenue in North Toledo. This toxic release forced emergency officials to order evacuation for people within one mile of the release, and shelter-in-place for those within three miles.
First, we urge all affected residents, workers, and business owners to closely follow government warnings and to take all necessary precautions. Nothing is more important than keeping yourself and your family safe.
From experience, we know that emergencies like this impose a significant burden on people who are forced to evacuate, miss work, or close their businesses. We are investigating the cause of this emergency, which we believe was entirely avoidable. Affected residents may have valuable legal claims.
Our lawyers have extensive experience representing homeowners, families, and business owners impacted by environmental contamination. Nick Coulson has been appointed by state and federal courts across the country to represent tens of thousands of people in such cases. We currently serve in a leadership capacity in a large class action involving a very similar industrial release of the chemical “MMA” from a facility in California.
Coulson P.C. is actively investigating this disaster, and if appropriate, we will pursue legal action for the benefit of those affected.
