Survivors Deserve Justice.

Abusers and their Enablers Must be Held Accountable.

Countless people around Metro-Detroit were stunned in August of 2024, when law enforcement officials announced sex crimes charges against a local doctor, Oumair Aejaz.

The doctor is charged with videotaping unsuspecting adults and children in changing rooms and similar environments.

Even more concerningly, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department states that it has identified evidence of Oumair Aejaz sexually abusing hospital patients.

Compassionate Assistance for Concerned Patients

“I believe this doctor may have treated me. What do I do?”

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has asked that potential victims reach out to share their information. This is a key step to making sure the perpetrator is held criminally accountable. We know that this can be intimidating, and we can help with the process.

“How can your law firm help?”

Our compassionate and understanding attorneys and staff can assist in coordinating with law enforcement to determine whether there is evidence that you or a loved one were abused by this doctor. If you were, we can help seek justice and accountability by bringing lawsuits against the healthcare providers that allowed this to happen.

Do I need a lawyer?

Understandably, many people may not want to spend time thinking about what may have happened to them. Others prioritize closure and seeking justice. Ultimately, it is up to each person to decide. But at a minimum, we suggest that you consult with an attorney to learn about your rights and ensure that (if you want to) you’ve provided any relevant information to law enforcement.

What we know right now:

This doctor was employed by a contract physician group and worked, through having “privileges” at several local hospitals. Preliminarily, it has been reported that he treated patients at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. We expect that those are not the only facilities.

Evidence of taking illegal photographs, but also of abusing patients.

The Sheriff’s office reports that Aejaz videotaped himself abusing patients (who may have been unconscious) and that what they have uncovered so far is only “the tip of the iceberg.”

Potential Patients Have Rights.

We believe the most important step is making sure that the perpetrator is held accountable for these unthinkable crimes. But there is also a short time for anyone affected to exercise their rights to hold the providers who allowed this to happen accountable. We are glad to provide free, no-obligation consultations.
