Prosper Data Breach Claims

Coulson P.C., an experienced consumer data privacy law firm, intends to pursue individual claims on behalf of qualifying Prosper users and applicants.

In September, 2025, Prosper reported in an SEC filing that customers and/or applicants personal information- including Social Security Numbers- had been disclosed in a data breach of Prosper’s systems.

On October 15, it was reported that the data breach affected as many as 17.6 million people.

According to Prosper itself, “[w]e have evidence that confidential, proprietary, and personal information, including Social Security numbers, was obtained, including through unauthorized queries made on Company databases that store customer and applicant data.”

Affected customers or applicants may have valuable legal claims. Several class action lawsuits have already been filed.

We believe that people who file successful individual claims are likely to recover significantly more than those who passively participate in the class actions.
