Vaughn Stewart is a plaintiff-side litigator focused on complex, high-impact cases involving consumer fraud, privacy violations, and other forms of systemic corporate misconduct.

Vaughn works on cases that challenge corporate practices causing harm at scale — deceptive conduct, unlawful fees, credit reporting violations, data and privacy harms, and predatory financial practices that strip wealth from individuals and families. He leads cases through all phases of litigation, from early investigation and strategy through discovery, briefing, and resolution, and builds every case to be trial-ready.

Before joining Coulson P.C., Vaughn represented consumers and tenants at a Maryland plaintiffs' firm, handling impact-driven cases against corporate and institutional defendants. He served as lead trial counsel in a consumer protection case that resulted in a six-figure jury verdict. Earlier in his career, he worked on complex litigation, government investigations, and regulatory matters at a large Washington, D.C. firm, and began his legal career clerking for the Honorable John T. Nixon of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Before entering private practice, he served as a legal intern in the White House Domestic Policy Council.

In addition to his legal practice, Vaughn represents District 19 in the Maryland House of Delegates, where he serves as Chief Deputy Majority Whip. His legislative work has focused on consumer protection, housing justice, and economic fairness — the same fights he takes into the courtroom. He was recognized as Housing Advocate of the Year by Economic Action Maryland in 2023.

Vaughn grew up in a small Alabama town where Monsanto dumped carcinogenic chemicals into the air and water for decades. He survived cancer twice before the age of 30. He knows firsthand what it means to be a person — not a liability calculation — on the wrong end of a corporation's decisions.

Vaughn earned his J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where he was an editor of the NYU Law Review, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
